These plays were sacred for Roman, as the theatre was accepted as the only way to distract from the routine life, if omitting the gladiator fights.

Ancient Roman Theatre was immensely influenced by Greek traditions, and that is why a lot of literary genres Roman dramatists used to translate and adapt from the Greek. But what differ the Roman Theatre from the Greek one is a bigger amount of expressivity while performing a play.
